A Non-Nap (or two)

As I mentioned in my last post, Emeline keeps herself busy not-napping these days. With newfound mobility, insatiable curiosity, and a fourth tooth that refuses to break through her gums, she's had a hard time falling asleep during one of her daily naps. This time she wasn't chewing on paper but talking, giggling, and testing the limits of her vocal cords. After awhile, I couldn't help but go join in on the fun:

We went back downstairs and played until she zonked out a half an hour before dinner. Child, as big as you think you are, you are still too little to be getting away with one nap a day. Okay? Okay.

I'm right, right?!

Before I let you go, here's an update on her alphabet wall hanging. I thought the ribbons were short enough so little patties couldn't reach them. I thought I found the balance between style and practicality.

I thought wrong.

Today during nap time (surprise, surprise!) I hear her pounding on the wall and...was that the sound of paper flipping? I run upstairs to see her stretched out taller than I thought possible, not only pulling on the ribbon but also shaking it wildly, enjoying the overall effect and hungrily eying the paper. K is for Kite nearly met her doom (after nearly fulfilling her destiny, ironically enough).

My confidence is waning. My days of rearing a two-naps-a-day child are swiftly coming to a close.

They are, aren't they?

Say it ain't so!

  1. Our only complaint is...there wasn't enough video, but then there is never enough. She brightens our day. Thanks for letting us in on all your fun.
