Sylvie's Update 4/19

Sylvie is three months old today! She weighed in at 13 lbs 11 oz and measured 26 1/2" long.

I can't believe how long she is! She is already pushing out of her 3-6 month footed pajamas!

Her oxygen levels are at 95%. We meet with her cardiologist on the 25th.

I know this is officially Sylvie's update, but Emeline had her 2.5 year old  well check-up today too. I was so proud of her. She's been so shy lately and hasn't wanted anyone but Mommy or Daddy near her. I was concerned that our pediatrician might not be able to give her the thorough check-up she needed. But, I checked out three books from the library about going to the doctor. Worked like a charm. She marched up to the scales and stood their patiently--"just like Dora!"--while the nurse recorded her weight and height. She even borrowed Doctor's otoscope and tried to examine Sylvie's eyes.

So. If any of you have any shy toddlers heading to the doctor, here are some books that you might find helpful. I'm sure there are even better ones out there, but these were the ones I could find at the library on short notice. If you have any other recommendations, leave a comment or shoot me an email! I'd love to hear about them.

Say "AHHH!" Dora goes to the Doctor by Phoebe Beinstein
Going to the Doctor by Kate Petty (part of the 'My First Time' series)
The Berenstain Bears Go to the Doctor by Stan and Jan Berenstain (a bit long, but thorough)

  1. Oh those darn Berenstain Bears! The books are so long and make me strangely sleepy every time I read them!! :)

The girls seem to get even cuter each time you post. Surely the first sentence of your post is a typo-- Sylvie isn't really 3 months old already, is she!?

  2. She IS 3 mo old already!!! What in the world?!
And you're right, the BBs go on and on and yawn...Last night I had to stop reading to do something and when I returned, Eme thought we should start over at the beginning. I held my ground. :)
