Day 5 of Recovery

First of all (poor thing will be so embarrassed by this someday), but she did it! She filled her diaper! Hey, everyone poops right?!That's what I'll tell her. Everyone reading this blog poops. Even Dr. Turrentine poops. If someone claims they don't, they have some major problems...

There were a few other developments this morning.

First, her dopamine is GONE! Blood pressure looks great.

Secondly, her arterial line is GONE! Her left arm is not laden with heavy medical equipment anymore. Sweet thing is able to touch her finger tips together again. I can tell she loves it.

Thirdly, ya gotta love this number:

That is her oxygen saturation number. She's doing it all by herself! Little heart is pumping correctly these days. I love seeing that number. I give you an A+ little Sylvie Syrup!

Seeing all this I couldn't help but sense that we would move up to the Heart Center today. But, I gave myself the 'moment by moment' sermon.

And since I began writing this, they've taken out her chest tube and all the tubes have been unhooked from her central line (which is still in for now).

The bedside that was once crowded with poles and drips and a spiderweb of tubes is now beautifully empty.

But even better than all of that: we're holding her again.

We are ever so grateful.

  1. Made me cry ;) So grateful to Him who is the giver of all good things!!!

  2. Yay!!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!
