Day 6 of Recovery

Up in the Heart Center there is a common refrain: It's so quiet!

No beeps from monitors, no alarms from empty bedside drips, no loud door bumping back in forth with frequent nurse visits, no frequent nurse visits. It's just so quiet!

As Sylvie returns to being more like Sylvie, she's becoming more particular about what we put in her mouth and how. She's thrown up a few times if the meds go in too fast or taste too terrible. She's completely stonewalled us with her sweet little pursed lips when it comes to the hospital bottles. She gladly filled her tummy when we brought hers in from home. She needs to keep eating or at least demonstrate she will eat well before they allow us to return home.

But absolutely no promises about going home--and no clear checklist either. We just need to be patient.

Because she's been more active, we have more toys for her to play with. Glow worm elicited the biggest smile. Ah, the sweet reunion of friends.
